For the month of October, IncrediCare is proud to announce Bridgette Douglas as the Employee of the Month.
Bridgette is a true DMV native, born and raised in DC. She worked in housekeeping for many years while also caring for her friend who had seizures. But her passion for caregiving started as a child.
Bridgette’s mother was also a caregiver at a nursing home in Fort Washington when she was a child. She would bring Bridgette with her to work, where Bridgette learned what it took to care for people. She learned that she really enjoyed caring for people. When she recently decided to change her career, Bridgette decided to apply to IncrediCare. She found the standards and mission of the company aligned with her capabilities and vision.
“You gave me a chance to show you what I can do.” She said. What motivates her to come to work every day is “putting a smile on someone’s face and doing something good every day.” Working in this field, Bridgette looks at people and her life differently. She finds herself learning “a lot from them (clients).” She hopes one day to open her own business, either in housekeeping or caregiving. For now, Bridgette is getting a lot of joy out of caregiving with IncrediCare, sleeping on her days off, cooking good food, and cleaning.
Bridgette was chosen as the Employee of the Month for her willingness to learn. She is cooperative as a team player, helping other clients in between her regular clients. Before her client suddenly passed away, Bridgette was always praised by the client’s family for her gentle and caring ways. They complimented her for her ability to motivate her client to participate in cognitive activities.
For all those reasons, Bridgette Douglas has been an essential part of the IncrediCare team.
