It is estimated that about 10 million Americans are affected by lymphedema. The training topic for April was lymphedema care with our care professionals.

One of our Lead Care Professionals, Alpha C, led the training by explaining the what and how of lymphedema care. He trained the care professionals on how to don and doff compression stocks, lymphedema wraps, and performing light massage to encourage blood flow.

Because lymphedema affects seniors in unique ways, our care professionals provide care based on the personalized care plans created by the Intake Coordinator and our Registered Nurses. These care plans are also reassessed by the nursing team every three months or when there is a change in condition.
