Finding the balance between work and life can be challenging for most. When your heart is as big as the world, it is even more challenging because you are always looking for ways to help the people around you. That is the story of our Employee of the Month, Nikki Quarmyne.
A native of Ghana, Nikki has been a Virginian since 2003. Growing up, Nikki experienced caring for others by observing the three generations of women surrounding her, her great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother. She calls the health care field “a calling” because it is in “the core of the family.” Nikki says this field also “came with ease” while watching these exceptional women care for others right in their home.
Nikki attributes her empathy as her “wake up call for the helpless to give life meaning and need help at a point in time.” She also says when it comes to her motivation to show up every day for her clients, it comes down to “compassion” as her “driving force, listening without judgment and treating all with dignity, love, and respect.” Nikki enjoys exchanging knowledge with her clients about life experiences. She believes in “putting all into everyday because life needs to be appreciated.
During her down time, Nikki enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She also likes to do volunteer work for a foundation she is involved in. She picks up clothes and toys for donation. This work is not only for her desire to help others but also to “put that seed” of compassion into her children. She is raising another generation of helpers as the women of her family did.
Joining Incredicare’s team this year, Nikki says she “came in contact by divine connection with this amazing company.” She “loved the energy” when she called into the office to inquire about a position as a caregiver. Nikki was chosen as the Employee of the Month because of the support she has provided to her clients. She rearranged her family schedule to accommodate her clients’ needs. Nikki not only keeps up with her client’s changes in condition, but she also embodies the Incredicare spirit of providing much needed support for her client’s spouse and her coworkers when they need help. Incredicare is very proud to have Nikki Q. as a part of our team!
