Last month, IncrediCare was honored to bring Dementia Through Your Eyes experience to many of the team members of Inove Medical House Calls on site.
Team members briefly introduced themselves, their roles, and their personal experience dealing with neurocognitive disorders before learning what the experience would entail. In groups of four, the team members were guided through the experience before everyone went through the debriefing process together. Many expressed feelings of frustration, loss, and inadequacy when they were unable to complete their tasks during the experience, just as their clients might when they are unable to complete everyday tasks due to their cognitive state.
The experience was a small tool to help this team consider better ways to help their clients with neurocognitive disorders.
