Many times, when new clients come under IncrediCare’s care, it is because of an unfortunate event that pushes the need for home care. One such event is due to wound care from falls or bed sores from pressure points. IncrediCare Care Professionals are then tasked to secure the safety around the clients’ homes to clear up all trip hazards.
While our nurses oversee the wound care, Care Professionals aide clients by keeping the affected around clean, dry, and protected as it heals. Depending on the wound, one of the nurses will do multiple trips to change bandages while supervising the Care Professional’ supportive wound care efforts.
They will also observe their clients’ day-to-day behaviors to come up with a plan of action for preventative measures, such as arm or leg protector sleeves, moisturizing after showering to maintain skin integrity, turning bed-bound clients every 2 hours, or light massage to promote good blood circulation.
While the team is ready to jump into aiding wound care, the goal is also to prevent it from starting.
