Every year, National Nurse Appreciation Week is celebrated from May 6th through May 12th. It ends fittingly on Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Nightingale was an Italian statistician and credited as the founder of modern nursing. This year, Incredicare celebrated our very own nurse, Deana McAdams.
Deana has been with Incredicare for the last year. She dove right into Incredicare’s mission of providing care with dignity. Within a few weeks of starting, Deana spent an entire weekend next to a hospice client on her last few days to ensure her spouse had support during such a difficult time. Deana has been supporting caregivers out in the field by overseeing each client’s care, always available to answer questions and offering suggestions for specific client needs. She reviews care plans to ensure they all match each client’s needs. She performs quarterly assessments, visiting clients all over Northern Virginia. She has also been supporting the office staff by aiding in caregiver training efforts.
Deana is a proud Army wife and mother of two children, one of whom is following in his mother’s hardworking footsteps in studying to be a Registered Nurse. Incredicare is proud and grateful to have such a responsive and dedicated nurse on staff.
