IncrediCare closed out the month of May by partnering up with Arden Courts of Fair Oaks to educate the staff in dementia care. By participating in IncrediCare’s Dementia Through Your Eyes training, the staff were trained to tune into their residents’ needs on a sensory level.
During debriefing, staff expressed a wide range of emotions they experienced by going through the course. While some felt worried and scared, others were motivated to move their bodies constantly, even when they were not sure how they were supposed to complete their tasks. While some staff became teary while considering their residents living with neurocognitive disorders, others became stoic and thoughtful about how to improve their care style.
