At IncrediCare, we recognize that verification of all skill sets of our CarePros truly elevates the type of care we expect to give all our clients. Training the CarePros every month on different types of skills and diagnosis keeps their tools sharp to succeed with every client, every time.
While some CarePros join the team as already trained Certified Nurse Assistants or Personal Care Assistants, others join the team with hands-on experiences but no certification. In both cases, CarePros are asked to demonstrate their knowledge using our resident client, Opal Hernandez. Armed with Opal’s care plan, CarePros are given a scenario where they perform a specific type of skill.
April’s training was all about transfers. CarePros used a Hoyer lift, a gait belt, and a transfer board to transfer Opal from the bed to her wheelchair, to the bedside commode, and back to her bed. For each transfer, trainers focused on CarePros’ proper body mechanics, situational awareness, and communication skills.
Overseeing the training were LPN Deana and Super CarePros, Backie Cook, and Alpha Conteh.
